Itinerary

Upon arrival at Arequipa’s airport, our staff will warmly welcome you and provide private transportation to your hotel. Arequipa, known as the “White City” due to its buildings made from white volcanic stone (sillar), is one of the most beautiful colonial cities in Peru.

After some time to rest, we’ll begin a guided city tour, starting with the Carmen Alto viewpoint, where you’ll enjoy panoramic views of the Chili River and the surrounding volcanic mountains. Next, we’ll visit the Yanahuara viewpoint, famous for its arched walkways and spectacular views of the Misti Volcano.

We’ll continue to the historic San Lázaro neighborhood, the oldest part of the city, known for its narrow cobblestone streets and charming colonial houses.

A highlight of the tour is the visit to the Santa Catalina Convent, a fascinating 16th-century religious complex that functioned as a city within a city. Its narrow streets, colorful courtyards, and peaceful atmosphere provide a glimpse into the lives of the nuns who once lived there.

The tour also includes a stop at the Main Square, surrounded by elegant arches and the imposing Cathedral. Finally, we’ll visit the Company of Jesus Church and its beautiful cloisters, a masterpiece of baroque architecture.

After a hearty breakfast, we’ll begin a spectacular four-hour drive to the Colca Canyon, one of the deepest canyons in the world.

Our first stop will be the Pampa Cañahuas Reserve, a protected area home to vicuñas (wild relatives of llamas), alpacas, llamas, and various bird species, including flamingos and Andean ibis. We’ll continue through the highlands, passing by beautiful lakes, glaciers, and active volcanoes such as Ampato, Sabancaya, and Misti.

We’ll reach the highest point of the journey at 4,910 meters above sea level, where the breathtaking panoramic views of the Andes will leave you speechless.

After descending into the canyon, we’ll arrive at Chivay, a charming Andean village. You’ll check into your hotel and have the rest of the afternoon free to relax or explore the town.

🏨 Overnight in Colca

Early in the morning, we’ll head to the Cruz del Condor viewpoint, the best place to observe the majestic flight of the Andean condor. As the morning sun warms the canyon, these enormous birds will rise on the thermal currents, soaring gracefully over the canyon depths—a truly awe-inspiring sight.

We’ll stop at several viewpoints, including Peña Blanca, Antahuilque, and Choquetico, where you’ll see pre-Inca agricultural terraces and enjoy panoramic views of the Colca Valley.

On our way back to Chivay, we’ll visit the villages of Maca and Yanque. In Maca, you can taste the traditional Colca Sour made from local fruits, while in Yanque, you’ll see traditional dances and visit the beautiful Santísima Concepción Church.

After lunch (not included), we’ll embark on a scenic six-hour drive to Puno. Along the way, we’ll pass through surreal stone forests, shimmering lagoons filled with flamingos, and remote Andean villages. We’ll arrive in Puno in the evening and transfer you to your hotel.

After breakfast, we’ll transfer to the harbor and set sail on Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world. The Uros people have maintained their unique lifestyle for centuries, and you’ll learn about their traditions and daily life.

We’ll then continue to Amantani Island, where you’ll stay with a local family and experience authentic Andean hospitality. After lunch, we’ll hike to the Pachamama and Pachatata ceremonial sites, where you’ll enjoy a breathtaking sunset over the lake.

In the evening, you’ll join your hosts for a traditional dinner and a cultural performance.
