Visit Pumamarca ruins are the remains of a hillside fortress that once guarded the entrance to the fertile Sacred Valley. Built on a steep slope overlooking the convergence of the Rio Patacancha and Yuracmayo rivers, its prime position, away from any tourist crowd rewards visitors with panoramic views.

Itinerary

After breakfast, the guide will meet you at your hotel, you will be transferred to the sacred valley until the community of Willoc where we will have chance to have a short walk over this traditional Andean Village that keeps its original way of live, people with their original clothes, houses and traditions, here will have the opportunity to attend a weaving demonstration, to learn their techniques used in the preparation of their materials, the raw material used, and the use of natural dye.

After this visit our transportation will drive us to Pumamarca the beginning of this hike, Pumamarca is an Inca remain, place where we will have time to explore the area and see Incas terraces, water canals and also the amazing architecture from Inca’s time, all this surrounded from a beautiful view from the high part of the Sacred Valle.

After this short visit we will have time to enjoy our meals (box Lunch) in the middle of pure air of the Andes. After lunch time, we continue our hike down to Ollantaytambo crossing Incas terraces, agricultural fields. This hike will be around 1 hour and 45 minutes until we get to Ollantaytambo town.

Finally we take our transportation back to the hotel.
