Upon your arrival in Trujillo, our team will be waiting for you at the airport to transfer you to your hotel for lunch and time to rest.
We will have an afternoon city tour including a panoramic visit of the downtown, surrounded by colonial mansions now recovered to their full magnificence by local institutions: La Casa Urquiaga (now housing the Banco de la Reserva) and la Casa Risco (now houses the Museum of Archaeology) are very good samples of XVII century mansions with iron balconies.
Finally, we will visit the Cathedral with its collection of paintings from the Quito School and the Monastery of El Carmen and Art Museum.
At the end of the day, return to your hotel for dinner.

We will start the day with a visit to Chan Chan, the ancient Capital of the Chimu Kingdom is a “must” for all visitors; is considered to be the largest mud-brick city in the pre-Hispanic Latin America, its higher development were reached between the XII and XIV centuries, then it was conquered by the Incas and finally abandoned before the arrival of the Spaniards.
From the remains of this immense complex, we can deduce that the Chimu people were excellent engineers and architects. A stop is made at the Temple of the Dragon consecrated to the rainbow with beautiful bas-reliefs.
Huanchaco is a fisher’s village near Chan-Chan ideal for lunch at one of it’s typical restaurants, also an opportunity to watch “Caballitos de Totora” or reed boats returning from morning fishing duty.
Departure for Chiclayo. Arrival and transfer to your hotel.
This will be a long day visiting the tomb of the Lord of Sipan located 33 Km (20 miles) southeast of the city on the terrain of a sugar-cane plantation. The Lord of Sipan was found intact with all his treasures: over 200 pieces of pottery and more than 100 pieces of gold, silver and copper jewelry.
We will continue our visit to the Tumbas Reales de Sipan Museum is an excellent and modern museum build specially to host the marvelous founded at the Sipan’s site. The most complete collection of archaeological treasures from the northern coast, including samples from the Vicus civilization.
Then, we will have time to lunch. After that, we will visit Tucume, a complex of pyramids surrounding by an imposing site and it’s considered as an important political and religious center. Explore the ruins and climb up to the lookout for a breathtaking view of Tucume and the countryside.
At the end of the day we will take our transfer to hotel in Cajamarca.
At 3400 m. (11300 ft.) and only the Km (9.5 miles) southeast of Cajamarca you will find a group of geological formations and archaeological remains including three large pre-Inca complexes:
After lunch we will visit the necropolis of Otuzco located at 7 Km (4.5 miles) northeast of the city, consists of a series of burial chambers or niches carved into volcanic rock in the upper hills surrounded by a nice landscape.
At the end of the tour, return to hotel.
